Deposit & Stage Payment Chaser

Bigger jobs are paid in stages, and every stage is a chance for the money to be late. This keeps every deposit, stage payment and final balance on schedule.

Put each job's payments and due dates on one row. The customer gets a reminder 3 days before a payment is due, a note on the day, and chases 7 and 14 days after - only ever the one that fits, never three at once. You are told the day after any payment falls due unpaid, and 'Owed now' shows what each job owes today.

For a customer you mark as a business, the chases add statutory interest under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998 - 8% above the Bank of England reference rate - and the fixed compensation of £40, £70 or £100. It is never added for private customers, who the Act does not cover.
