Seven kinds of code: a website link, plain text, a Wi-Fi network, a contact card, an email, a phone number or a text message. Fill in the fields and the code appears as you type.

Colour the dark and light modules to match your brand, choose square, rounded or dotted modules, and drop a logo in the middle. When a logo is added the error correction is raised to its highest level automatically, because a logo covers part of the code and something has to make up for it.

The three corner squares are always drawn solid, whatever module shape you pick. Those are what a phone locates the code by, and styled QR generators that round them off produce codes that look lovely and will not scan.

Save as PNG at any size up to 4096 pixels, or as SVG, which stays sharp however large you print it.

The code is built in your browser by the tool itself. Nothing you type - not the Wi-Fi password, not the contact details - is sent anywhere. Most free QR sites generate the image on their server, which means they have seen it; and the ones offering a "dynamic" code can switch off the link later.
