Quote Follow-Up

Most quotes are not lost on price. They are lost because the person meant to reply, then a week went by, and by then replying felt awkward. A single polite follow-up recovers a surprising number of them. Three, spaced out and worded well, recovers more.

You list what you have quoted on a Google Sheet. Three days later the first nudge asks whether it arrived - which is a real question, because emails do go astray, and it gives them an easy way back in. At seven days the second one invites them to tell you what they would change, which turns a silence into a conversation about scope rather than a yes or no. At fourteen the last one says you will close it off, no hard feelings, door open.

Then it stops. Three nudges is the point at which more starts costing you goodwill.

Every time it runs it tells you how many quotes you have won out of those decided. That number, watched over a few months, is worth more than any individual follow-up.
