About this product

A CIS return is due on the 19th of every month, whether or not anyone was paid, and HMRC charges £100 for a return even one day late. This makes sure the information arrives in time for you to file.

You keep one row per contractor client. On the 6th - the day after the tax month ends - it asks each one for the details of every payment to subcontractors: who, the gross amount, materials, and the deduction. On the 10th, if 'Records in for' has not been updated, it reminds them, naming the penalty. You are warned five days and two days before the 19th, and the day after if a return is missed.

A client marked as not filing nil returns carries a reminder that a month with no subcontractors still needs a nil return or an inactivity notice. Mark a client Inactive and it leaves them alone.

It is a reminder system, not advice: it works out dates from what you put in the sheet, using the rules as they stood in September 2026. You remain responsible for your filings. When a rule or rate changes, the setting that holds it is on the Settings tab.
