About this product
Accountants are owed money too, and most never claim the interest the law allows on a late business invoice. This chases your fees and puts the figures in front of the client.
You keep one row per invoice. It sends a polite note three days before the due date, another on the day, then chases at 7, 14 and 30 days overdue. For a business client, the second and final chases state the interest they owe under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998: 8% over the Bank of England reference rate - 11.75% from July to December 2026 - worked out to the day, plus the fixed compensation the Act allows: £40 on a debt under £1,000, £70 up to £9,999.99, and £100 above. A column on the sheet shows the interest to date on every overdue business invoice, every morning.
Interest is only ever added where you put YES in 'Business client' - it cannot be claimed from someone acting privately, and a blank is treated as no. If your engagement letter sets its own rate, put that in and it is used instead.
The reference rate is a setting. It changes each January and July, and the Settings tab says where to check it.
