About this product
Holiday is where small employers most often get the sums wrong. This works it out the gov.uk way for everyone.
Workers are entitled to 5.6 weeks' paid holiday a year. For someone on regular hours that is their days a week times 5.6, capped at 28 days - so 16.8 days for three days a week. Someone who starts or leaves during the year gets a share of it, rounded up to the nearest half day. For irregular-hours and part-year workers, it uses the method for leave years from 1 April 2024: 12.07% of the hours worked in each pay period, rounded to the nearest hour, from the hours you log.
Keep 'Taken this year' up to date and 'Left to take' fills itself, with anyone who has taken more than their entitlement reported. Eight weeks before your leave year ends you get one list of everyone with 5 or more days left, so nobody loses holiday by accident. You can also send each person their balance on the 1st of each month.
It is a record-keeping aid, not legal advice, and uses the rules for Great Britain as they stood in September 2026.
