About this product
Self Assessment season is the same every year: most clients send their records in January, and the returns pile up behind them. This starts the asking early and keeps at it, so the pile arrives sooner.
You keep one row per client. From 120 days before 31 January - early October - it asks each client for their records for the tax year just ended, then reminds them at 90, 60 and 30 days, and sends a final message at 14 days that mentions HMRC's automatic £100 penalty. The moment you put a date in 'Records received', the chasing stops for that client.
Separately, you hear from it at 30, 14 and 7 days about every return not yet filed, in one email. On 1 February it lists anyone still outstanding. An Upcoming tab shows every client and whether their records are in.
It knows which tax year it is working on, and a date from last season does not count for this one - so when 6 April comes round, the sheet rolls over to the new year without being cleared out.
It is a reminder system, not advice: it works out dates from what you put in the sheet, using the rules as they stood in September 2026. You remain responsible for your filings. When a rule or rate changes, the setting that holds it is on the Settings tab.
Features

- The final reminder mentions HMRC's automatic £100 late filing penalty

- Rolls over to the next tax year on its own - last season's dates never count for this one
- Warns you that 31 January 2027 is a Sunday
- Every message is recorded against the client, the deadline and its date, so nothing is sent twice and next quarter's reminders are new ones
- Starts in test mode - everything comes to you until you say otherwise
- Warns you when a deadline lands on a weekend or bank holiday, and names the working day before
- The wording lives on a tab in the sheet, so you change it without touching code
